With great power comes great responsibility. That’s what Spiderman taught the entire world when Tobey Maguire was still the face of the web-shooting, web-slinging superhero. But tonight’s neglectful use of the new twist, (or the inexplicable refusal to do so) not only proved that the Spidey wisdom isn’t universal, it also cost us the early exit of an amazing artist. #Robbery #Call911
By now, it’s safe to say we’re completely aware of how Lea Salonga feels about anything spoiler-y, God bless her tweets. But it should also be common knowledge now that if you don’t want to be spoiled, don’t click it. Or if you accidentally did, then don’t go beyond the “spoilers after the jump” line. It’s that simple. If it says “No Trespassing”, don’t cross it. Unless you want the high voltage barbed wire to electrocute you.
If you’ve been watching V-reporter Robi Domingo’s Daily Updates, chances are you know exactly what some of the Battle Pairings will sing this week. If you missed these updates and would like to know what duel songs will be featured in tonight and this Sunday’s Battles, this post has got you covered
Here’s the partial set list for this week’s Battle Rounds episodes:
This Saturday, we’ll see the beginning of the next phase of the competition — the Battle Rounds, where artists from the same team go head-to-head in one song to fight for the chance to stay in the competition. And this season, a new twist is in play. Get ready for the STEAL.
The Blind Auditions are over, but the competition is just heating up. For this season of The Voice of the Philippines, Battle Rounds will get an exciting twist and will be followed by an all-new Knockout Rounds. (and before anyone reacts, I meant “New” in the Philippine context, just clearing that up for those who raised their eyebrows and who have seen other versions of the show.)
After ten long, draggy episodes, we’ve finally arrived at the very last chunk of the Blind Auditions! Hurray! We’ve braved the hailstorm of Apl’s decade-old pick-up lines, brushed off the numbing calmness around the coaches’ red chairs, and embraced the few hair-raising artists that graced the stage. Yes, ladies and gents, next week, there are no more chair turning, but most definitely more singing… and STEALING!
Welcome to the last stretch of the Blind Auditions (finally!). And if you think they saved the best talents for last, you are most definitely wrong. Yes, ladies and gents. Tonight’s crop of talent is as unsatisfying as the maximum serving size a low calorie, low fat dieter can get, which left me craving for more talented, buzz worthy artists. But hashtag #FinalBlindsPH reminded me that I can’t have that next slice of flan, or any slice at all. Unless of course tomorrow’s episode brings a sugar rush of appetizing talents, then I’ll gladly indulge myself. #ImHungry
It might seem crazy what I’m ’bout to say… but it’s true. The Voice PH (yes, the Philippine version) managed to feature SEVEN, (oh yes, seven) battle-bound artist in just one night! Ain’t that incredible? If this has been the standard pacing of this season, the Blind Auditions would’ve already been over tonight. But I won’t go ranting about the turtle speed the Blinds have always been for TVOP. Not tonight anyway as it’ll be over by next week, and did I say they showed seven artists tonight?
Tonight’s Blind Auditions episode brought me back to the WGWG (White Guy With Guitar) era of American Idol where guitars are all the rage and are all that makes you an “artist”. And with half of the battle-bound artists tonight wielding the mighty stringed instrument, it’s hard not to imagine if we’ll ever come to that kind of phase, not that I like the idea. But then I remember, this is the Philippines. There’s no way in hell another belter isn’t gonna win this thing.
