It might seem crazy what I’m ’bout to say… but it’s true. The Voice PH (yes, the Philippine version) managed to feature SEVEN, (oh yes, seven) battle-bound artist in just one night! Ain’t that incredible? If this has been the standard pacing of this season, the Blind Auditions would’ve already been over tonight. But I won’t go ranting about the turtle speed the Blinds have always been for TVOP. Not tonight anyway as it’ll be over by next week, and did I say they showed seven artists tonight?
Tonight’s Blind Auditions episode brought me back to the WGWG (White Guy With Guitar) era of American Idol where guitars are all the rage and are all that makes you an “artist”. And with half of the battle-bound artists tonight wielding the mighty stringed instrument, it’s hard not to imagine if we’ll ever come to that kind of phase, not that I like the idea. But then I remember, this is the Philippines. There’s no way in hell another belter isn’t gonna win this thing.
In the middle of watching tonight’s episode of The Voice PH, my brain wandered into a dream sequence where I dial 911 and report an emergency on overdose of expired pick-up lines that should NEVER be said to anyone ever again, for the rest of eternity. Yes, Apl. I’m calling you out. What ever happened to the feisty banters? I mean, I know this isn’t “The Hunger Games”, but it seems like the year off had made the coaches tamer and afraid at clawing their way in to a contestant.
Independent record label, Artifice Records, finally released the music video for the much-anticipated collaboration of hip hop/rap artist Abra and multiplatinum pop artist Julie Anne San Jose, entitled “Dedma“.
Watch the vividly graphic and tensely dark music video below exposing the horrible truth of the world we decidedly ignore overlaid by a controversial touch on the sensitive topic regarding religion and the existence of God:
More than a year has passed since Mitoy Yunting of Team Lea was named the very first The Voice of the Philippines champion, and now, it’s time to find his successor to the throne. Yes, ladies and gents, Voice PH is at it again this year, hopefully with better camera handling and production, less to non-existent silly silhouette gimmicky non-sense, sharper banters among the beloved occupants of the red chairs, and most importantly, a slew of talented musicians worth rooting for.
And with that, let’s begin Season 2 of The Voice of the Philippines!
The much-awaited return of the hit singing competition, The Voice of the Philippines, is just around the corner. The premiere of the second season will happen this Sunday, October 26, ahead of the previous announcement saying early November.
